Dear Parents and Students,
I am so excited to be the Middle School Science teacher and Middle School Coordinator here at LVCS!
A little bit about myself: I am married to John Boak and we just celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. We have two sons, Brady is in 11th grade and Rylan is in 9th grade. I graduated from The University of Florida in 1999. After college, I taught 7th-12th grade Science & Health classes for 5 years in Palm Beach County. After the boys were born, I decided to stay home to enjoy every moment being their Mom. This will be my 4th year being a part of the Lake view team.
About my class: I believe that science is an extremely engaging and interesting subject. It increases our awareness and knowledge of the world around us and opens doors to new and exciting discoveries. This year your child will be using a variety of textbooks and instructional materials to help them achieve proficiency in science content. They will also have many opportunities to apply what they have learned in lessons through various lab investigations and projects which can be fun and highly engaging.
My goal is to create a classroom learning environment to help your child:
• Develop a strong science vocabulary • Build a solid foundation of science concepts and understanding • Make connections among science and other academic areas • Utilize technology to learn more about science • Develop critical thinking skills and the ability to challenge assumptions, think creatively, and solve real-life problems • Most of all ☺ Enjoy Learning!
Sincerely,
Stephanie Boak
