middle school mathematics classes
Welcome to middle school mathematics classes!
Dr. Latina has more than fifteen years of teaching experience both at the college and K-12 levels. Her teaching philosophy is that learning is a life-long adventure to satisfy the curious mind and we do not make mistakes, rather we “make learning” through the process. She loves to see her students discovering and exploring new things each day. She has a Ph.D. in culture and international studies from The University of Connecticut. Her background is varied with a focus on the arts and sciences and she emphasizing the importance of knowing the fundamentals of mathematics early on in order to build a solid foundation for the future success of her students. She is also involved in creating a STEAM after school program that allows students to combine their skills not only learned in her class, but other middle school classes, which will allow for synthesis and creativity across disciplines. Dr. Latina lives in Lake Placid with her daughter Francesca (Francy) and her dog (Diggy) and she loves the small town feel. She is a member of First Presbyterian Church of Lake Placid and has been involved in small groups and other activities there. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family, movie night, and going to Disney and the beach.
