What are the school hours?
School Hours - 8:00 am - 2:30 pm
Extended Care Hours - 7:00 am - 7:30 am & 2:30 pm - 6:00 pm
What curriculum is used?
We use the Bob Jones University Press Christian Curricula in all classes. It is a proven curricula that builds a strong foundation. We have also incorporated the Six Traits of Daily Writing to supplement our writing curriculum.
Is there a testing program?
Lakeview students in grades K - 8 participate in MAP testing three times per year. This testing allows our teachers to identify areas of strength, as well as areas in need of improvement. Classroom teaching can then be adjusted as necessary.
Who are on the staff?
All of the classroom teachers are four-year college graduates. They are Christians who attend a variety of local churches.
What about the school calendar?
LVCS primarily follows the Highlands County Public Schools' calendar. There will be a few days that might vary and LVCS does not take all of the same early release days.
How much is tuition?
Please see our fee schedule for our current tuition and fees. Tuition may be paid on a ten month period pay plan. There are discounts for multiple children in the same family and for paying by the year or semester.
Do you offer financial aid?
Lakeview Christian School is an approved VPK provider and accepts Step Up for Students, McKay, and Gardiner scholarships. You may also apply for the Florida Income-Based Scholarship through the AAA Scholarship Foundation. As of 2016, Lakeview is also a Florida School Readiness Program provider.
Are students required to wear uniforms?
Yes, we do have a uniform policy.
Do you provide lunches?
Children bring their own lunches Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Subway is available on Wednesday and pizza is available on Friday.
Do you provide after before or after school care?
Beginning in 2016, we now offer before and after school care. Morning drop-offs may begin at 7:00 am. After school care runs from 2:45 pm - 6:00 pm. Click here for a schedule of fees.
What are your ages for enrollment?
Children who are three by September 1 may enter the three-year-old kindergarten class. VPK students must be four and kindergarten students must be five by September 1.
Is Lakeview licensed?
Lakeview is licensed by the Florida Department of Children and Families. (License #C10HI0514) It meets the requirements for a private school with the Florida Department of Education.
